Burning, Hot Feet? Is it Erythromelalgia?

Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (AKA Mold Illness) was the root cause behind my my erythromelalgia (EM). Treating Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) put my erythromelalgia (EM) into complete remission. Erythromelalgia is characterized by burning, warm, red extremities- usually feet but hands and face may be affected. The painful episodes of EM are nicknamed "flares" and are usually intermittent but flaring can become constant. EM usually occurs bilaterally or on both sides of the body. Many things can cause burning, hot, red extremities so we don’t want to make assumptions. We want an accurate diagnosis. Here are some hints that your burning, hot, red extremities may be EM- Cooling techniques provide relief from the pain of EM while heat often worsens symptoms. Elevation can improve the discoloration. A "violaceous" purple or blue discoloration can occur in EM. Raynaud's syndrome can often occur before or alongside a diagnosis of EM. While there is debate as to whether or not these are two distinct diseases, I think the important thing to note is that they both EM and Raynaud’s involve vascular dysfunction. EM is frequently misdiagnosed as CRPS (Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome). If you feel you may have EM, take photos of your flaring and take them with you to medical appointments. Tell the provider you think you have a rare disease called erythromelalgia (EM) . You can find a local medical provider familiar with EM by visiting the below physician directory- The Erythromelalgia Association's Physician Directory- https://burningfeet.org/resources/physician-directory/ I would urge you not to accept a life sentence of living in pain. Rule out CIRS as a contributor to your EM as this put my EM into complete remission!
